Some great touring memories of our past tours.
Bathurst is one of those events where being there is just so totally different to what any one expects from watching it on TV. The chat in the van each night as we drive back to our accommodation something which should be recorded as the best ever adverts for a tour.
Each tour attracts a mix of those who have always dreamed of making it to the Great Race and several returning for a repeat visit to what is truly one of the world's iconic sporting events.
Again, because we are a small group, we have a great vibe and no-one feels like they are being herded around. People who have come along, not quite under duress, but often travelling with a mate, who are not "group tour" people have without exception commented at Sydney Airport that it may be a tour by name, but not by nature, and is all the better for it.
Our past Le Mans tours have all been a great success, small groups of like-minded people having a relaxed holiday, seeing things which the average traveller from our part of the world would never usually get to, and often, unheard of. We do all of the big things which you would expect - you can't be a first-time visitor to Paris and not go up the Eiffel Tower, but a visit to Leonard da Vinci's last home is something which is just one of the unexpected things we do on tour.
By being a little flexible and keeping an eye on what goes on around us, on previous tours we have been able to take in a World Touring Car Championship round at Spa, or joining the locals of Ypres watching the Belgian "Red Devils" on a big screen in the town square playing in the European Cup.
We call it a tour but it's really more like a bunch of friends having the holiday of a lifetime, with someone there to take all the stress out of travelling and making sure that everything goes just the way you would expect it to be.
